Default New to me 2000 600 Grizzly

Hi All,

New member here, been stalking as a guest but did not join until I got my own.

I just picked up a 2000 Grizzly 600 with 2400 miles for $2200, it looks and sounds good, has a few scratches but very good shape for a 9 year old.

I am upgrading from a 1995 Bayou 300 2 wheel drive so I can't wait to not have any hassles with mud and snow !!!!

Do you guys have any gotcha's with this year or things I should consider checking or doing before i hit the trails. The only aftermarket thing on this is a winch.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
Tom

Hi Tommybro!
Welcome to out little slice of the pie here; we've got a couple of guys who run 600s still. You might want to get in touch with D-Lager...

Hey! Since you're in Connecticut, have you ever run any of the Massachusetts trail systems in their State Parks? We head up to October Mtn, Pittsfield and Beartown each summer for some rock crawling, mountain climbing and mudslinging!

Post some pics of your bike!

Hi Bob,
I have never went up that way really cause I never had an ATV that I though could handle it, The Bayou I had was good, but more in a work horse sense, if you rode it on the trails all day you would get beat up !

I'll have to look into the tags for MA and get out that way, it's not too far from me.

Will post some pics soon, I still need to unload it from the tuck and take it out for a ride, will post pics soon

Perhaps some time in May we can put together a Northeastern Grizzlyowners assault on Massachusetts...

Hi Tommybro31

And welcome .You say you've been stalking us as a guest. So you know your way around the site a little. I recall stalking a little myself for an answer to a heating issue that lead me here. Lots of good post to read. Where is your Grizz at now. Stock.? oversized tires.? Some maintenance concerns.?

I havnt had my Grizz all that long Bob. No beer gut yet. Remember I had to walk where I was going, uphill, both ways, But I have learned a lot about my 600 from these guys.

Welcome Tommybro! I know what you mean about the Bayou and the trails, I had a 250 that I road 130 miles one day and couldn't walk right for 2 days afterwards! That's what got me into a Grizzly, I had to have the 4 wheel independant suspention for my old ass! Trail riding is a blast with the right machine, you'll love the upgrade.

Welcome aboard Tommybro!

You're right Bob, we'll all have to get together for a Mass ride in May. I'm waiting on the paperwork to re-register for '09. It was $30 last year, so hopefully it doesn't go up...

Hi 660!
We'll have to put together a plan of attack for all of us Northeasters... I do know that at least one weekend in May is already shot for me; my kid is graduating college and for what it cost I should be there... How about June?
