Default hmf utiliy

well, I wasn't expecting it but I bought a muffler through an make an offer on ebay. Its the HMF Grizzly 600 muffler in a polished finish. Just one more thing off my list of maybes

I used to have one of those on my 400 Big Bear,They are Loud but they sound good.

Well it looks as though Ill have to read up on jetting again. It seems pretty good now although its been taking a bit more to get it going. Time to clean the carb too I think.

well I didn't have to go to far to find the recommended jetting. I put up in my photo folder. I think the troubleshooting section would apply to any slide carb.

Now I worried about the increase in noise. Im looking for a quiet core and screen now. anyone have one collecting dust. I found some on ebay but judging from some older forums they are up a little in price.

Ok Its here. Just a little concerned now about how loud it will but It literally a really big hole straight through with a perforated pipe holding packing. Are there any exhausts that don't resemble straight pipes? I could have put a chrome vacuum cleaner pipe on it with heat wrap and re-jetted to the same effect. . . no?

Leo vince isnt a straight through pipe, and is only 2 dbs with the one core and 105dbs with the race core, and they all come in the box!

Ok I need an opinion. The exhaust came with a jet to be used with the factory needle. I was wondering on the differences in performance between the factory needle set up with this jet or use the dyna-jet set up that provided a needle and jets.
