Default Best Mount for a GPS

Best place to mount them and what type of mount?

Not in front of the gauge package and next to the handle Bars?
Front rack seems like a good place - too far away?

Looked at several mounting packages offerd, all of them rely on capturing the GPS into a pocket. Anyone have issues with loosing there units? Or vibration were you cant read them? Doesnt seem very secure for all that bouncing around.

lately I place my GPS in my coat pocket and take it out when I need it. Its ok but becomes a hassle when you have to remove your gloves to view it and stop.
i.e. fork in the trail and not sure wich way to go, I know this is small potatoes to complain about but why not.

Thoughts.

TJ,
If your speakers won't blow the GPS out of the mount, it's got to be a good one. I'll pencil RAM onto my wishlist, along with the GPS unit. (Which one of those do you guys like the best?)

RAM mount with a Garmin 60CS, waterproof, dustproof, dropproof! The best way to go!

I have now rolled my Renegade twice and both times my GPS has survived!

Thanks BOB!!

fritz's grizz
I have really punished my GPSMAP60C, I love getting back from a ride and viewing my trip on a topographical map on my PC and then viewing it in Google earth

My Garmin filled up with water 2 weeks after the one year warranty was up, however for a very nominal fee they swopped it out for a new one anyway!
