i am looking at the supertrapp mudslinger and hmf swamp series. i cannot decide which one. i know the mudslinger has packing ,but i am unsure of how often it would need repacking. i do not do much deep water riding.i just got doen putting a hc piston,so i figure this would help out some more. i will also be putting a uni air filter and dyno jet stage 1 jet kit. thanks

Hey there bigredgrizzly. I have the mudslinger and a friend of mine has a swamp series. They're both good quality pipes. I was actually amazed at the build quality of the supertrapp. As far as how often to repack, I'm not really sure. I've only had the pipe since last spring. As far as sound goes, they are both fairly loud pipes when the spark arrestor is removed (or quiet core if talking about the hmf). You will notice a power difference especially with that hc piston. I'm running 11.1:1 compression. You will most likely have to rejet. What bore size is your motor? Mine is 100.5mm and I'm running a dynojet 170 main. The dynojet kit i purchased did not include a jet that large so take a look at what size jets are included. I hope any of this helps you.
On another note, the supertrapp received a few more compliment on what it sounded like than the hmf. Seriously! It barks. |
