Default Hi from Gold Bridge BC Canada

I am a new member from a small community of BC Way up the mountains of the South Chilcotin where the snow stay unti l the end April. Endless trails for ATV and snowmobile. We started building our Cabin 5 years ago and live permanently since 3 years. This year we decided to get our self ATVs and explore our beautiful area. We just got our first machine, a Kodiak 450 and looking right now at a 2007 Grizzly with 800 km from a private sale. Not knowing anything about it I was wondering if anyone could let me know if there is any problem to watch in this particular year like boiling gas tank etc...
Thanks

welcome! yamaha did a recall to fix the "boiling" gas issue.
i think there was a ventilation issue with the '07 and '08 EPS units. they would plug up with mud and kill the power steering.
the lower ball joint nuts were known to strip on the '07's, i think it was fixed for '08 but i would check them out anyway.
the rear knuckle bushings on all model grizzlys are prone to failure if they are not greased regularly.
otherwise, they are very reliable machines and all of those issues can be avoided with regular maintainence

On my '07 I drilled one side of the vent valve on the fuel tank. It is mounted at the rear of the tank. There are two ball bearing valves, just drill one out. That took care of my gas bubbling from poor venting. I haven't heard of the other issues mentioned. All I have replaced on mine with 2,500 miles on it are the brake pads and wheel bearings. I ride in a lot of mud and water though.
