So I have a 1998 grizz 600 that backfires through the carb. Cleaned the carb and glanced at the exhaust valves and everything’s in spec. Pops no matter where in the throttle you are. It’s a random pop and engine sounds perfect otherwise and starts great. Always had random popping but now it’s unrideable and never did anything to it just cleaned carb after it became unrideable and still nothing. Any ideas?

Sounds like foul plugs. My Grizzly was doing the same thing with a new carb on. I changed the plugs and its rides amazing. No popping at all.

Going to test it Friday been trickle charging the battery. Hard to find time to work on things lately. I will let y’all know!

sounds like intake boot may be cracked.

got it to start, ran good till i turned the choke off and then the warmer it got the more it popped till it shut off. So weird. Intake boot was replaced recently

Figure anything out? To me it sounds like it could still be an issue with the carb.
