I have this vehicle and when I try to start it the starter turns over for 3 or 4 seconds then quits and the oil temp light comes on. I have a new battery, new starter relay, neutral switch and diode current braker. I have checked thew rear brake switch and starter current cut off relay. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas, thanks Tim

Pop the seat off and look at the wiring harness along the right side. Myself and a lot of other Grizzly owners have had similar issues. The wiring harness was poorly run from the factory, look for worn or damaged wires.
This May be your problem.

Thanks Mike, my quad is a 2000 Yamaha Grizzly 600 4x4 and the wiring is on the left hand side of the frame if I am siting on the quad. I noticed some one else had the same problem that I have and I cannot find that email from this website. I have the original Yamaha service manual online and I will have to track the wiring from the starter switch on the handle bars to the wiring on the oil temperature light. I have put my shop battery directly to the starter and the motor turns over fine, I have used a test wire and crossed over the starter relay and the motor turns over fine. Do you have any other idea's for me to try? Please let me know, thanks Tim Fluter
