This is just a general FYI for everybody, so in case the site should go down, you may know why.
I just heard that 380,000 people have been asked to evacuate the Tampa, Florida area due to the hurricanes coming. The server that hosts this site and all of my other sites live in Sarasota, Florida, which is just south of Tampa. It's not a "real" data center, and while the friend who manages the server takes every precaution, there's still a chance that the site could go down if they lose power.
So again, if the site goes unresponsive, that may be why.
Charlie is now a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 145 mph. Latest landfall predictions put it south of Tampa, which is a better location in terms of where my ISP is located.
The only problems he anticipates is likely power and internet outtages between today and Sunday, from the extreme winds and flooding that will likely occur in surrounding areas.
I will consider us very lucky if the site doesn't go down for at least 12-24 hours over the weekend. So just as a heads up, make plans to go ride or something instead of be online.
