..Gunny,.. very subtle mods...leveling kit,....K&N,....maybe a programmer,..but all in all,..not messing too much with government motors engineering.... I already debadged the tailgate and the stupid little square GM logo on the door. Painting the grill emblem to match,....and the ventvisors I put on in the dealership parking lot.....those are always a must.

Hammer, don't get me wrong about the 4-door ... it's just I can remember not to long ago all trucks had just a cab & if ya needed more room for your family, ya bought a shell& carpet kit
.... and anymore, a 4 door is just so freak'in nice ALL the time .... I'm just wondering how I did with my old Ford for 35 yrs ??

BGGRIZ .... that's about what I did when I bought the "New To Me" truck .... seat covers, headache rack, Mag Tech tranny pan & rear diff cover & a few other "Show" mods & I'm good. I spend way to much money on that kinda stuff anyway .... it's an addiction I tell ya .... and I got meetings three times a week to try & cure myself ......... I did get a new Summit Racing catalog however ......... lets see ........ on pg 72 they have some really nice ..................... DANGIT!!!! ........ I needhelp I tell ya !!!

Well here is my 2scense on the hemi vs the vortec.. Sunday my buddy (that is in korea) lets us borrow his hemi so that i could take his wife and 2 kids and my wife and kid fishing/riding/rock throwing.... Now i had the grizz in the back with a few other items ie chairs fishing gear coolers.. And i cruised up the mountain @ 75 + with ease! Now i have not hauled anything in my old man chevy but his has some get to it but will not light up the tires. But if you were to put them side to side and punch it i thinkit is a toss up but the chevy would have to have the v-max i dont think the 327 would hang with the hemi... That is based off me driving one (2010 chevy) as a patrol vehicle and driving my friends hemi... Just my two sense.. Now hands down the chevy is nicer inside and more comfoatbal and iwould love to own either a dodge or a chevy... Not so much ford never liked em... Sorry Gunny....

grizzly4x4; Yes, they put a shim in the throttle that only made the pedal more sensitive. I had no trouble before, I was just cya ing it. I have a cold air intake and dual Flowmaster 40's on it now also.

I agree with Grizz4x4 a few posts ago, a Chevy would have to have the Vortec Max in it to keep up with a Hemi. I'm a chevy guy and I love my grandpa's 09 silverado, it definitely sh*ts and gets, but the Vortec 5.3L (325) isn't gonna keep up with the Hemi 5.7L (350). Now a 6.0L (364 i think) Vortec Max would have plenty of power to keep up with the Hemi.

WTF? are you saying a Hemi with a stock output of 375 ft.lbs of torque will out pull a D-Max diesel with 600 ft lbs oftorque?

i have never towed with a Hemi, but i have a 5.3L equipped 1/2 ton Silverado that i tow with and one of the campsites we go to requires us to go over a 2500' elevation change (both up AND down) in a matter about 2 1/2 miles. one of the families that camps with us also tows thier camper there using his 1/2 ton dodge equipped with the Hemi. ours is 29' and thiers is 24'. he has complained several times that i should slow down and wait for him so he doesn't get lost getting there! hahahaha

on the other hand i have ridden in a 3/4 ton Dodge with a Hemi while pulling a 20' gooseneck loaded with another 3/4 ton dodge equipped with a cummins (the truck being towed weighs 7300 lb.) and it does a decent job of pulling it. i know that the guy with the Hemi towing the gooseneck wishes he had the "grade brake" feature of the allison trans! LOL

the Hemi is a good engine, but it's no comparison to any modern diesel in a truck!

My biggest problem with my new ride is how oo get grip marks out of the dash and where GWR left clench marks in the seat from his clamping down from fright during the ride up.
