i have a 2000 and the fan work's only when i test it. is there a sending unit?if so where?(i bought it used and have no book for it)

There must be a sending unit somewhere, to properly activate the fan only when needed. I suggest you trace the wires from your fan and hopefuly that will get you there. It may be tapped into the radiator somewhere. Heck, I'm not even sure where mine is! Never really looked. Good luck, hope this helps. -Clint.

Get a service manual and find the wiring diagram for the fan. The sender could very well be the temp sender for the high temp light, or it could be a different part entirely.

i wired my fan direct on a toggle switch it runs all the time.
