I just bought a warn plow with the manual lift option. I decided today that im just going to fork out the cash and get the warn 2.5 winch. My question is since i have the manual lift option for the plow mounting will the winch still work with this or do i have to buy something else?

Is there a U-bolt mounted somewhere on your swivel base? If so, all you do is take your winch hook off and use a quick connect link to attach the cable to the U-bolt. You can use just the hook to raise/lower the blade, but you will find out fast that the hook seems to constantly come off the U-bolt. Also when you mount the "contactor" box for your winch, mount it under the seat in the compartment. Reason being, that if you mount it outside somewhere the water and mud will end up ruining the contactor. It works out very well mounting it under the seat and it's out of the way and protected. Some guys mount them under the hood but I would think the contactor would still be exposed to some water there at times. Anyway, I hope this helped.
