Does anyone know if I use vp (motorsport 103) fuel if that will increase my performance? The fuel has a motor octane rating of 99.I have a jet kit, twin air filter, pipe, performance cdi box,and 27"mudlites.

It's not necessary and would only be a waste of money.

The motor is designed with a specific octane rating in mind, which I think is 87. The purpose of octane is to resist pre-detonation. Since the motor is not designed to require higher octane fuel, using it won't accomplish anything.

Have to agree with you on that one Rob. You would just be wasting your money on the higher octane fuel
RobG and Extremegrizz!

You are both right! The racing fuel is designed for the higher compression engines that cannot run on 87 oct without piston and valve damage. The only use
DP could get out of it would be a cleaner burning fuel, but he would actually get less mpg on each tank because the fuels of today are not like they were 20 yrs ago.The extra additives they blend in todays fuel is how they get the octane
higher than than 87 oct.
Hmm .. so u use 87oct, in the US the lowest oct. we have is 95oct. thats in sweden.
