Hello, I am new here and am bumfuzzled over my Grizzly 600 not starting. I press the start button and hear a consistent chatter at the frame on the left rear, (the starter relay). I have replaced the relay with a "universal relay" and the same thing happens. I do have 12 volts on the battery. There is more than enough power from the battery to raise and lower the snow blade. (Irrelevant info but acknowledging the strength of the battery.) -- Any ideas as to why my ATV won't send current to the starter?

A lot of Grizzly owners, myself included find issues with our aging Grizzly wiring harnesses. My starter at one time decided it didn’t want to stop, other times it would intermittently kick in while running. It destroyed two flywheels and starters throughout its life. I finally traced the issues to a wiring harness short. Mine was along the upper frame just under the seat on the right side. I’d test your starter first, and then go over your wiring harness.

I tried to rewire mine, but wound up replacing with a used harness after making a few connector changes. Starts runs fine & everyting works. Mine had too much heat from around the exhaust on the right side of fuel tank and seat area and wiring became brittle and seperated. I re-rounted the replacement harness on the left side of the tank.

Battery voltage should be between 12.6-13.2. volts. Mine won't start with less. (1998 YFM600)
